A Facebook user Issa Abdulganiyu Omotosho in an open letter he shared on his timeline has made his grievances known over the rate at which a network provider (Airtel) in Nigeria deduct his airtime unlawfully. See his letter below:
Open Letter to Airtel
Airtel has been fond of this stupid act of illegally deducting ones Airtime without sending an SMS to explain the reason for such deductions, even when they were still CELTEL. While I noticed that they have conspicuously removed the "speak to our agent" portion from their 111/121 centre, they have failed to respond to my mails and my posts on their Facebook page.
I am a Nigerian not as rich as Dangote, but rich enough to purchase 100naira airtime. I might decide to use or keep the airtime, why then would 100naira suddenly turn to 12naira out of the blue.
Dear Airtel, we have had a long relationship, going back 2010. I have misplaced my line countless times and got it retrieved because I love the network. It seems our relationship might go sour anytime soon.
Trust me, you might not know the effect of this today, but if you refuse to change, you will then know what it means to have a loyal customer turn his back on you.
Yours faithfully
I.A. OMOTOSHO__
