The Girl Child Initiative is a group of young, brave and talented individuals who have come together to help the Girl Child as a whole in the society and the world at large. Just as the name implies, the group is basically concerned about the general state and welfare of the girl child.
The group is a non governmental and non profit group, founded on the belief and certainty that the rights of the girl child both in Nigeria and the world at large are rightly upheld. The motto of the group is “Every girl child, a potential leader”.
There are various potentials embodied in the girl child and it is the goal and objective of the group that these potentials are actualized in every girl child and that these potentials are used for the common good and the development of the girl child.
In a country like ours, where the female specie is regarded as inferior and subdued and even relegated to the background, it is of importance that a group like ours stands up to this challenge and help in building the girl child in reaching the peaks of their power whilst not forgetting to invoke in them the necessary self belief needed to achieve and attain these.
This is a medium used to reach out to the world explaining or sharing the experiences of the girl child particularly in Nigeria since that's my geographical location. Telling the world she is broken even though she seems okay, telling the world she needs help and needs to be reached out to, in any part of the world please don't ignore her, don't walk away, please make a move, make a step share her story and I am sure help would get to her.
We are using this opportunity to call out to women ladies and even girls that feel they have a story to tell, to get in touch with us so the world can learn and probably help them.
And if any male specie feels he has a story to tell too he his also welcomed.
As the year begins to unfold we hope to reach out to these girls with the available resources we have,so your support in whatever form would be appreciated.
