Thugs invaded the Ondo State House of Assembly complex Friday, as members impeached the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun and his Deputy, Iroju Ogundeji.
Members accused the impeached speaker of gross misconduct.
Former Speaker, Jumoke Akindele was appointed acting speaker in order for members to elect a new leadership.
Olamide George representing Akure North was elected speaker, while Abimbola Fajolu from Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo constituency emerged as Deputy Speaker.
The thugs are allegedly members of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers, NURTW who attacked assembly members as policemen watched helplessly.
